Going Into Business
The universe is the biggest business in town. An ever expanding, infinitely complex stream of merchandise, created by an infinite factory. All form is energy. Every energy can express itself in many forms. And every form and energy has it’s price. If you want to buy “gratitude” you must pay the price of giving up your grudges. A little bit of gratitude costs a little bit of grudge. Total gratitude has no room for any grudge. That’s just the price. Many choose not to pay it.
It goes both ways. Just as you can buy gratitude with grudges so you can by grudges with gratitude. While it is is empowering to know what we are buying and the price, there is no "right" or "wrong" in the marketplace of the universe. Grudges are valuable because they help freeze wounded feelings. There are a lot of wounds being created every day so grudges are in high demand. As “poor” as we may see ourselves, it’s easy to find some kind of energy needed to buy the next “grudge.”
The universe is tough, in much the same way many complain that big business is tough: If you don’t have the dough, you can’t have the merchandise. It's that simple. The universe is also more flexible than most business and will take payment in many forms. If you won't buy gratitude by giving up a grudge, it's perfectly fine for you to buy it by receiving a gift from a friend. If you won't carry your weight in a friendship it's fine for you to be willing to receive it as an act of grace. And if you are willing to step outside your little shop of self you can sample any energy you want - free of charge.
It is a skill to do business with the universe. It can take time and energy to learn that skill. If you do not invest that energy, you don’t get to purchase that skill. If you don’t purchase that skill you don’t get to engage in the ways you otherwise could. The universe teaches with tough love.
There are infinite ways to live a life. Some people choose to invest their money and retire wealthy. Some choose to spend their money on nick knacks and retire poor. The universe respects the cost and value of each choice we make. The universe is the biggest open market in existence and every currency is valued. Some make up the deficit in cash by buying happiness with charm and wit. Happiness does not mind which currency is used to secure it. Misery is equally open to different payment options.
Action: Learn the going rate for the energies and forms you want in this dimension and others. If you cannot pay the going rate in one form, consider how you can transmute energy into the forms you need. If you need a smile to buy an invitation to a party, but your day is going wretched, do you have the money to buy yourself something that will secure the smile? If not that, do you have good acting ability? And if not that, do you have a friend who will teach you? Play with it. The business of the universe can be lots of fun when you start getting good at the game. And that takes practice. Start a small business to help you learn these principles. There will be a cost to this learning. [big grin]
