Absolute Gibberish

One of the wonderful things about the existence of so many perspectives is that everything makes nonsense to some perspectives and perfect sense to others. In order to make sense of nonsense we need to put on another set of eyes. This is a very good use for nonsense: it can train us to notice and cultivate the eyes through which it does make sense.

Both in the writing and reading of this material I wear many hats, some of which do not see "eye to eye." [grin] Because I can migrate between these perspectives easily everything I write makes perfect sense to at least one part of me. But not to others.

Which is to say, that as you peruse these pages there will be times when this information makes absolutely no sense to the eyes you are using to read it. That's OK. You are not stupid. Nor do you need to devalue the material. Other than to note that it makes no sense. Sometimes you may be able to stretch to a point where it kind of makes sense. Other times it won't. That's OK. But know that somewhere out there is a set of eyes that sees just as clearly as your own for who the same words make perfect sense.

Part of the value of a body of work that is written from multiple perspectives is that it does challenge us to grow to embrace them all. It is easy to find something that is comfortable for our eyes and stick with it. But our eyes see what they have always seen, and so we go the places we have always gone. When we adopt a new pair of eyes, then we see an entirely different world, and can go places you have never gone.

It is still valuable to recognize and validate what is nonsense - absolutely crazy gibberish - to the set of eyes you are using. For that may well be the truth. [smile]
