The Call of Beauty
Despite the pain of crushed dreams, the despair of failure, and the loneliness of so much of ourselves being outside the box of self we will accept, you are here. You, through every mask of cynicism, bitterness, rage, and hate, are here: responding to the call of beauty.
Layer by layer you have shut yourself down as a necessary means to survive a pain that is neither recognized, nor answered by those in the world around you. To avoid the added pain of humiliation and fresh disappointment, you have closed the doorways to the voices that you have no way of answering. But despite this, and numerous other obstacles, you still respond to the voice of your soul which sees and is beauty.
It is in this maze of hardened wounds that gems of consciousness are formed. Serving as the friction, upon which you recognize your name, they awaken you to the one you were before you slumbered. Not by revealing who you are, but by awakening you to who you are not. These wounds tug at your energy, draining you, pulling you down, until you let them go as the chips removed from a raw stone that hides the true magnificence of the sculpture you are inside. This too, is a journey of a lifetime. You are on your way. But as you go forward, do so with recognition of the immense courage you share with us all, as you move beyond all the many “unsolvable” problems, and respond to the call of adventure. I honor you for that.
Action: Appreciate your self for the seeker in you that still reaches for that which is beautiful, despite so many wounds and disappointments. You are courageous!
