Our Factory of Creation

Imagine that you are a factory of the most amazing kind. You have chemicals and raw materials of all sorts just waiting to create every kind of wonder imaginable. Then notice that most of the materials are sealed off on one side of a long white line with black tarps concealing them from view. On the other side are partially assembled wonders of all kinds. The staff rushes desperately around trying to find the needed ingredients to complete the projects but they are nowhere to be found. As you sneak behind the black tarps you see all the missing pieces. “Over here,” you call out. “Look – what you want is over here.” But the staff dismiss you: “That stuff is bad. We can’t use any of it and wish it would go away.”

All of us have dreams we want to create. Try as we might we cannot find the pieces within ourselves to manifest them. Even as we give up in despair, the materials we need are waiting just on the other side of our judgment.

In a world of duality there is hot and cold, black and white, expanding and contracting, acids and alchalies. Both are needed for the amazing revolution in technology we have embraced so fully and depend on.

But within ourselves we don’t like anger, pain, frustration and rage. We deny envy, hostility and hatred. They wait, ready to be harnessed, behind the black tarp. We wait, impotent to fulfill our dreams.

“Control” is an energy that I have run pretty heavily in my life, most of the time under the critical eye of the metaphysical archetype which states clearly: “you should not be controlling.”
Presumably the only "good" use for control is to "control" the impulse to control. [smile]

Trying to control my controlling impulses, judging myself for failing, and feeling more controlled than ever by all these judgments led me to feel guilty, ashamed and suppressing my spontaneous impulses. This in turn led to outbursts of rage at times, responding to the grief and powerlessness a deep part of me feels about being caged in a small pen. More control is needed then to control my rage. So much beauty and power spent wrapping chains so tightly around me they threaten to break the wings that would carry me far beyond such self destruction.

I have been getting to know my control as “powerful ally” in my life. When liberated, it is a neutral dominant energy that possesses clear vision of what it wants and how to get there. I use it beautifully in my landscape work, getting more done as I give it space to issue orders, direct and move my own body freely to accomplish. I use control in relationship to structure sacred space that protects treasures that my partner and I both value.  By embracing control as a healthy energy and negotiating it’s use with my partner, it has served both of us and brought yet another energy across the white line of my factory.

Action: Pick something you judge about yourself. Analyze it’s raw ingredients. i.e. Within hostility there is intensity, passion, focus, and the will to act. How can you use that to create something you desire?
