Cultivating Proactive Motivation
We are all given the gift of reactive motivation. Fear, envy, pain, guilt, shame and anger are all effective motivators that have inspired us to survive, grow and change.
At a certain point in our journey we become conscious of the space between our outer stimuli and our initial reaction. This is our first step to freedom.
Fears are the shadows of the light values they infer. Fear of loneliness infers our value of connection. Fear of humiliation implies the value of respect. Fear of rejection infers the value of acceptance. Part of building proactive motivation is the process of mining our fears for implied the values and using those values to motivate us instead or in addition to our fear.
Every constrictive energy infers an expansive energy. The constrictive energy in instinctive. You have to choose to step into the expansive energy it infers.
Action: Bring consciousness to your motivation by pausing before the next triggered response. Ask yourself what you truly desire and assess your best path of creating that?
